Description:

All roles paid. Seeking Houston, TX local infants and kids for multiple roles. Compensation varies by role, but minimum of $7.25/hour. Meals including during working hours. No travel / accommodations. Must be willing to work Houston local. Non-union production. Parent/guardian must be on set at all times with child and may have hands featured in shot. Infants will be held by adult actors who are seated in some shots. Submission deadline: 6/15/2023 Auditions in Houston: 6/10 & 6/17 Table read: around 6/24/2023 Production starts: 7/17/2023 Submission: Children of speaking age should self-tape "I love you grandma" and sing up to 1 verse and 1 chorus of a children's song. (Can be prompted off screen.) Stella 4yrs self-tape attached sides. All applicants: headshot, full length picture, size card, contact / agent information, location, and Texas Child Actor/Performer Authorization status. NOTE: Project depicts child abuse, but no intense scenes will be shot while children are on set.

Finnish/German appearance (blond/light brunette hair, blue, green or hazel eyes preferred.) Petite/younger appearance. 8 to 10 years old, white girl to play small 8 to 9. Stella is an abused child with a smart, caring, nurturing, empathetic, conscientious and obedient nature. She is mature beyond her short years and intelligent, takes care of her little sister. Please self-tape slate, one scene using sides.

STELLA (5-6 YRS) – LEADFemale4-7 y.o.White / Caucasian

5 to 7 years old, white girl to play 5-year-old German/Finnish descent female (blond hair, blue/green/hazel eyes) often mistaken for a 3-yr-old due to her small stature. She is smart, caring, nurturing, empathetic, conscientious, obedient. Must be able to recite a line one to two sentences long when prompted. Stella will sing a verse of 3 songs along with others. Self-tape with attached sides.

STELLA (3 YRS) – MINOR/SUPPORTINGFemale3-4 y.o.White / Caucasian

Petite 3-yr-old of Finnish/German descent (blond hair, blue/green/hazel eyes). Stella is a smart, caring, somewhat mature toddler with a conscientious, obedient nature. This role includes lines up to 3 sentences. Undergoes implied abuse; all such scenes will be shot when child talent is not allowed on set for emotional safety purposes. Instead of sides, self-tape the following: “I love you, Grandma” then sing up to a verse and chorus of a favorite children’s song or provide link to demo reel.

STELLA (2 YRS) – MINOR/SUPPORTINGFemale2-3 y.o.White / Caucasian

Finnish/German descent (blond hair, blue/green/hazel eyes ). Sweet, caring toddler who obeys her parents without question. Character will kiss father character (Carl) and undergoes implied abuse. (Scenes depicting abuse will be shot when child actors are not allowed on set.) Stella can speak 2 to 3 word sentences and will repeat number 1-5 in German and recite a child’s rhyming prayer with help.

STELLA (18 – 19 MONTHS) – MINOR/SUPPORTINGFemale1-2 y.o.White / Caucasian

Finnish/German descent (blond hair, blue/green/hazel eyes preferred). Stella is a sweet, smart toddler who repeats up to 4 words on cue. She’ll need to be potty trained enough to shoot a quick scene in “big girl” clothes and will need to walk well enough to pretend to vacuum with a push toy. Instead of sides, self-tape the following: “I love you, Grandma” then sing up to a verse and chorus of a favorite children’s song or provide link to demo reel.

STELLA (newborn, 2-3 mos, 5 mos, 9 mos)Female0-1 y.o.White / Caucasian

Finnish/German female baby (light hair, blue/green/hazel eyes). 9 month old should be able to sit in a highchair, lay on stomach and bat at a toy, laugh when engaged. Must be healthy and able to be filmed under bright lights up to 30 minutes at a time. (Less for newborn.)

GLENDA (6-7 YRS) – MINOR/SUPPORTINGFemale6-8 y.o.White / Caucasian

Finnish/German descent (light eyes/light hair preferred). Glenda is an impetuous busy-body, the younger sister to main character, Stella. Must be able to deliver short lines and follow directions. Mid-American or no accent. Self-tape with Stella sides.

GLENDA (2 TO 3 YRS) – MINOR/SUPPORTINGFemale2-4 y.o.White / Caucasian

Finnish/German descent (light hair, light eyes preferred) Impetuous and curious, she is the younger sister of the main character, Stella. Speaks two four-word sentences, sings a Christmas carol verse with the family (doesn’t have to get song words right). Mid-American or no accent. May submit a self-tape of child singing a verse and chorus from a Christmas or children’s song. Okay to sing along with a parent/guardian as long as child can be heard over adult.

PAULINE – MINORFemale8-11 y.o.White / Caucasian

9 to 10 years old Stella’s best friend, doesn’t take no for an answer. (1 to 2 lines.)
