About the project: "Born to Fly," tells of a fateful day in 1972 when Jackie-Joyner-Kersee, a ten-year-old long-legged girl trying to find her place in an athletic world built for boys, is introduced to track and field and discovers her love for the long jump. The story gives a glimpse of Jackie’s perseverance that helped her build the skills and resilience to become an Olympic gold medalist and one of the world’s most outstanding female athletes of the 20th century. Born to Fly is a story of faith, perseverance, and the power of love in family and community. Rate: The role of Jackie will be paid $250/day + 10% agency fee, and the rest of the actors $175/day + 10% agency fee. Additional info: Location: East St. Louis (security will be on-site) Dates: June 26-30, 2023 There are no mandatory vaccination requirements but testing may be done on set at the cost of production. The short film may be submitted to film festivals and will be used as a proof of concept for a future feature film. Minors will work no more than 8 hours on set (full-day rate) and no more than 4 hours for rehearsals if needed (half-day rate).
