"The World We Created" - Student Short FilmWashington, DC, United StatesID: 541312Exp: 3/20/2023
Casting for a short film directed by a Howard University graduate film student. It is a coming of age story and period piece about Vincent, a 13-year-old boy living in the NYC projects in the 1960s. We get to see the projects through his imaginative perspective as he comes to terms with the reality of his environment. While it takes place in NY, the film will be shot in the Washington, DC area. This film will be submitted to festivals upon completion. After it finishes its festival route, it will then be made available to stream online. This is a student film, so positions are unpaid. However you will of course receive credit and meals during the production. If you seem like a good candidate for the role, we will be in touch with further instructions on submitting an audition tape (just using your phone or laptop is fine). Sides will be provided.
Vincent (Lead Role): A 13-year-old boy who is a daydreamer and has a wild imagination that he subconsciously uses to cope with his life in the projects. He is a fan of comic book heroes and TV characters. He believes water gives him super powers and tries to use them one day when someone steals his favorite jacket. Looking for a young Black actor aged 12-15.
