Seeking Kids & Teens for "Matilda the Musical"
In search of boys and girls ages 8-18 to participate in the musical production of "Matilda The Musical Jr.". See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Show Dates: June 1-4, 8-11, 15-18 2023 Invited Callbacks Saturday, March 25th, 5:00-8:30 pm Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. The song should showcase your vocal range and strong storytelling ability. This can be an accompaniment track or sheet music. An accompanist will be provided and there will also be a speaker connection for music devices. Please have music cued up to where your singing will begin. Please see the attachment for details. Honest and unassuming, but with a prankster streak and a strong sense of justice. Emotionally demanding role. Danceability: Strong dancing skills are preferred, but not required. The tyrannical headmistress at Matilda's school who despises children. (In the musical version, Trunchbull is traditionally played by a male identifying actor in female clothing/makeup/hair, but the role is open to males and females.) Matilda’s self-absorbed, negligent mother and an amateur ballroom dancer. She thinks little of Matilda’s unique abilities. She is as loud in her makeup and dress sense as she is in her voice.
