"For King. For Country." Show Seeks Teenagers
Seeking actors ages 17 and above for "For King. For Country." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: For King. For Country. is an intriguing story about a small township in trouble during the 17th century. It is a unique show that is told in an immersive setting, where the cast will be directly engaging with the audience, They will talk with the audience, and then pull them along as they explore the mystery of the night, blending the line between the audience and cast. Wilton Historical Society has partnered with us to perform at the Wilton Historical Society Museum Complex, a historical home located in Wilton, Connecticut to tell this immersive show. Rate: This is a paid position. Additional info: Due to the immersive nature of this show, improvisation, and retro scripting will be used heavily for this production. Performers with a background in improv, LARP, and/or dramatic performance are encouraged to join. A background in historical interpreting is encouraged, but not required as tutorials will be provided during the rehearsal process. This audition will be in two parts. Please prepare a one to two-minute-long dramatic monologue to be performed. For the second part, be prepared for a short round of improv performances with the casting director. Historical accuracy is not a requirement at the time of auditions. Rehearsals will be held on Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM. This show will require a commitment on all evenings of the dress rehearsal and the show dates: April 7, 14, 15, 21, and 22 of 2023 in Wilton, Connecticut. Politically oblivious, primarily focused on her engagement to Kit. She has picked up on the strange energy in the house and accuses Elsie of theft/romantic entanglement with Henry. The events of the evening, despite that some of it has happened in her house, will come as a shock to her.
Patriot, part of Washington’s spy network working with Henry. She has a personal vendetta against the English, the subject of which will be worked out to the level of comfort set by the actor cast. She does not live with the Fairfax family. but spends a considerable amount of time there since she serves as a maid and housekeeper.
Loyalist. He is a likable man, and landed gentry of good name, helping Gideon in his efforts, more out of a sense of loyalty to his childhood friend rather than the crown. Kit is engaged to Addie, and is genuinely in love with her. His concerns about the revolution are tied to his concerns for his (and Addie’s) future.)
Loyalist. Sailor by trade, a soldier in the Prince of Wales Regiment, helping to hide the head of the statue & other secrets. Originally from Orient, Long Island. At the moment, Lydia is living in his home, and he sees this as a service to the British forces (though it must be stated, he has not given up any of his own property.)
Related to Gideon (relation to be determined), originally from Orient. She has left her home to temporarily live with Gideon in Wilton. Her home in Orient has been seized by the British military to serve in operations against the Patriot forces. She is new here, only a few months since she arrived.
