The audition for the musical "Shrek Jr." is open to actors and performers between the ages of 6 and 18. Please see the details below. About the project: Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task - if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way. Additional info: Those auditioning will be asked to sing a prepared solo approximately 1-2 minutes in length. Rehearsals start out 4 times per week and increase closer to showtime. Rehearsals are usually about 5:30-8 pm on weekdays and some Saturday mornings. There can be an occasional Sunday afternoon. The closer to the show, rehearsal times will also extend. It’s not an easy schedule. The kids work hard but always say the outcome is worth the effort! Show dates are June 22-25 & June 29-July 2. If interested, please apply.
