Seeking Kids for "Kinky Boots" Show

Looking to cast two kids ages 10-12 for the "Kinky Boots" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father's shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair find that they have more in common than they realized... and discover that when you change your mind, you can change your whole world. Filled with glitter, glam and a whole lot of sole, Kinky Boots is a sensation that has inspired audiences around the world by reminding us all that we can change the world when we change our minds. Based on a film of the same name, with music by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein, Kinky Boots lifts us up and shows us that we have way more in common than we ever imagined. Additional info: PLEASE PREPARE & PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR AUDITION: Two songs that best showcase your vocal talents and range: 16-32 bars of any Pop or Rock song of your choosing 16-32 bars from one of the pre-selected pieces from the show: The Most Beautiful Thing in the World Land of Lola Step One The History of Wrong Guys Soul of a Man Everybody Say Yeah Choosing to sing a song for a specific role from the show does not guarantee that you will be considered for that role. Please select a cut that best showcases your vocal style and range. Your sheet music should be in the proper key with cuts marked. An accompanist will be provided (no CDs, tapes or a cappella numbers, please). Please be prepared to tell a story or memory of a time when you felt excluded, a time when you found your community, a time when you learned to accept someone for who they are, or a time when changing your mind led to a change in your life. There will be a short dance call. Please bring shoes and clothing appropriate for a dance audition. If you are auditioning for Lola or an Angel, please be prepared to do your dance call in heels. If you do not have a pair of heels available for the audition, please wear whatever shoes you are most comfortable dancing in. If you play a musical instrument, please note the instrument and your proficiency level on the audition sheet. You may be asked to play your instrument at callbacks. Please provide a copy of your resume. Please provide a copy of your headshot if you have one. Please bring proof of your COVID-19 Vaccination. We do require that the cast, crew, and production team be fully vaccinated. SHOW DATES: May 12 to 20. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will begin with a Company Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 7 PM to 10 PM and then will occur every Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday evening from 7 PM to 10 PM beginning Sunday, Feb. 19.
