No piano accompanist will be provided so bring your own instrumental music on your device. Acapella will not be accepted. Characters will have either a Standard British or Cockney accent. A naive and youthful sailor who helps Todd return to London and unexpectedly falls in love with Johanna. He is not yet corrupted by the world and believes people are mostly good at heart. He quickly surrenders to feelings of "true love”. Adj. Idealistic, naïve, romantic, amiable.
Todd's long-lost daughter and Turpin's ward. She is pretty, sweet and delicate but has experienced trauma and possesses a buried capacity for insanity. She is full of life and constantly yearning for freedom. Damsel in distress. Adj. Romantic, sheltered, rebellious, hopeful.
A poor youngster apprenticed to Pirelli then Mrs. Lovett. He finds a surrogate family in Todd and Lovett. He responds easily and quickly to the kindnesses of his elders. He grows increasingly suspicious of Sweeney. Adj. Simple-minded but clever, uneducated but observant, protective, optimistic.
