About the project: Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies Jr. tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the beautiful female reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.” Seize the day! Additional info: Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:15-6:45, Saturday 9:30 a.m.-11:45 (April 3rd-May 19th) Break (no rehearsals) May 20th-June 2nd Summer schedule (June 5th -20): Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00-4:30 p.m., Saturdays 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Performances June 22nd-26th If you are interested, please apply.
