"Matilda" Musical Needs Boys & Girls
"Matilda" the Musical is looking for kids ages 8+. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Matilda is a little girl who's clever and imaginative - and she can move things using only her mind. Matilda's parents are nasty and stupid, and her life at home is hard. But during her first term at school, she finds Miss Honey, a teacher who loves her. Matilda also encounters headmistress Miss Trunchbull, who hates all children, and Matilda's no exception. But in Matilda, it's possible that Miss Trunchbull may have met her match. Additional info: Please be prepared to sing and read from the script. Directors ask that all auditioners use British accents to the best of their ability. Rehearsals Sunday afternoons, Tuesday & Thursday evenings. All actors under the age of 16 must have a guardian attend all rehearsals and performances. Performances May 5, 6, 12, 13, & 19 at 7:30 pm; May 14 & 20 at 2:00 pm (note that the second matinee is a SATURDAY). All actors must show proof of vaccination for COVID-19 at auditions. Matilda's classmate, a genuine, kind boy with a fondness for sweets. Subject to extreme punishment by the Trunchbull, but he bounces back stronger than ever. Requires strong singing and acting. C4 to E5
Matilda’s older, monosyllabic brother. He is not very bright, and favored by their parents. Role calls for deadpan comedy and the ability to create character with few words.
