Seeking Teens for "Spamalot" Musical
Seeking performers ages 16+ for Monty Python's "Spamalot" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention killer rabbits, cows, and French people. King Arthur recruits Knights of the Round Table to join him on a quest to find the holy grail. Additional info: Looking for singers and dancers/movers/tech dancers with great comedic timing. Some will need to tap dance. Prepare at least 32 bars of a comedic, up-tempo song in the same style as the show. Bring recorded accompaniment (Directors have a Bluetooth speaker) or sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. NO ACAPELLA. Dress comfortably and be prepared to dance. The choreographer will teach a dance sequence. Bring tap shoes if you can tap dance. Anyone under the age of 17 will need a parent to sign a form due to mature content. English accents/dialects will be required for the performance. Use the internet/BBC to help you prepare. A Knight of the Round Table. Ironically called ‘Sir Robin the Brave’, though he couldn’t be more cowardly. Joins the Knights for the singing and dancing. May also play Guard 1. Vocal: Tenor/Baritone (Low D3 - High G4) Dialect: English - [posh] Dance: Strong
A Knight of the Round Table. He is fearless to a bloody fault but through a twist of fate, does discover his softer side. This actor must be great with character voices and accents. May also play the French Taunter, Knight of Ni, and Tim the Enchanter. Vocal: Tenor (Low C3 - High E4) Dialects: English - slightly cockney (possibly French, high-pitched voice and heavy Scottish) Dance: Some dance ability.
King Arthur’s horse and servant. Underappreciated but always longing for King Arthur’s approval. Good, funny, physical mover, and tap dancer. May also play the Mayor of Finland. Dialect: English - slightly cockney Dance: Strong - tap dancer
The hopeful and frilly prince who loves to sing and pines for his love atop a tower. May also play Not Dead Fred and the Minstrel. Vocal: Tenor (Low A2 - High A5) Dialect: English Dance: Strong - must be able to move well as Fred. Historian: A tweedy academic (the Narrator). Might also play Brother Maynard, a long-winded monk. Vocal: Any Dialect: English - refined, professorial Dance: None
