Casting Call for "New Air" Short. Storyline: An Immigrant South Asian family co-exists in a townhouse with a single mother and her daughter. Born out of their social and cultural clashes, tensions rise. Auditions: via Eco Cast self-tapes Callbacks: late June 2026 (in-person, TBD) Start Date: July 11 - 12 or July 18 - 19, 2026 (TBD, 2 shoot days) Rate of Pay: $200/day Location: Greater Toronto Area

A South Asian, Southeast Asian, or mixed ethnicity child, 6-11, any gender. Asha immigrated from India to Canada with her family and adjusted more easily than her parents. Kind, patient, and playful, they act like an older sibling to a younger child while occasionally testing their mother’s patience. Supporting role. No mature content. Parent/guardian present on set at all times. Weekend shoot compliant with Provincial Child Entertainment Laws.
A girl, 4-9, Eastern European, Hispanic, White, or mixed ethnicity. Sammy is bright, playful, imaginative, and curious about different cultures. She shares a close sister-like bond with Asha and embraces Indian food, stories, and traditions through her family connection. Supporting role. No mature content.
