Age Range in Play: 15 years old, 18 years old, 22 years old, 30 years old, 37 years old. Ari is Brit’s best friend. They were born at the same hospital, they have a joke about their moms giving birth on the same bed, 2 months apart. It’s the blood, they’ll say. There were tiny microscopic parts of our blood mixed together before we even met. Ari’s journey begins with a desperate longing to fit in.

People at school have started to talk about her and Ari in ways that make her feel sick to her stomach. The summer after high school, one of the many they’ve spent together, Ari lets Brit know that she’s leaving.
