Seeking Kids for "Phantom of the Auditorium" Play
Seeking kids ages 8-14 for "Phantom of the Auditorium" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Brooke and Zeke are thrilled to be starring in a mysterious show called The Phantom, and not the least bit frightened by the old legend that the play is cursed. But when strange, spooky messages start appearing, and a masked menace starts disrupting rehearsals, they begin to wonder: what if there really is a ghost haunting their school, determined to stop the show?! Prepare to get goosebumps as they race to solve the mystery in this thrilling—and chilling—new musical, based on the classic series by R.L. Stine. Additional info: Music: Please prepare 16-32 bars (30 seconds ~ a minute) in a contemporary musical theater style (e.g., Beetlejuice, Mean Girls, Dear Evan Hansen, etc.) or use the provided track and sheet music to prepare. For your song, please bring a karaoke version of the song (no vocals) to play on a Bluetooth speaker, which will be provided. There is no requirement to memorize your music but it helps us evaluate how well you can "act your song" if you do. Acting: Please prepare the sides of your choosing for the audition [preferably 1 to 2 of them]. You do not need to have this material memorized, but we want to see you act it out to the best of your abilities! Dance: Be prepared to dance. The audition material is attached. Callbacks, if needed, will be held: Saturday, December 20, 2:00-5:00 pm latest. Rehearsals will be held at Actorsingers Hall on Wednesdays 5:00-7:30pm Fridays 5:00-7:30pm Saturdays 1:00-4:30pm The first rehearsal will be on Friday, January 2. There will be a required guardian meeting that day. Tech week will be from Sunday, March 22 through Thursday, March 26. Attendance is mandatory. Lead. Brooke has just been cast as “Esmerelda” In her middle school play “The Phantom”. She is very nerdy when it comes to horror, since she loves all things spooky and scary! But...some things are far too spooky even for her! When strange things start happening to her best friend Zeke during rehearsal, she gets help to solve it from the...TOTALLY NOT CUTE new student Brian! We are looking for a strong female singer who can convey a lot of emotion for this role!
Lead. Zeke is the best friend of Brooke, He has been cast as “The Phantom”! With a big sense of humor and a love of horror, he wants to solve the mystery of the crazy happenings during the play's rehearsal! We are looking for a strong male singer with a lot of humor!
Lead. Brain is a new student at Woods Mill middle school. He has a very big secret…he is the phantom that haunts Woods Mill middle school! Can he finally put on the play that he has been haunting for? With his big crush on Brooke not meddling into things…? We are looking for a strong male singer who can convey a lot of emotion for this role!
Lead Supporting. Tina is the stage manager of the play “The Phantom” at Woods Mill middle school. She is CLEARLY the better option for Esmerelda, and would do anything to get the part from Brooke! We are looking for a strong female singer who can convey Tina’s sassy attitude and sense of humor!
Lead Supporting. Ms. Walker is the teacher who is directing the production of “The Phantom”. She had discovered her great grandmother, Abigail Walker, left the plays script at the school, and she decided to put it on. Is the play really cursed? She doesn't know for sure!
Lead Supporting. Emile is the night janitor at Woods Mill Middle School. He has a secret though...He isn't the night janitor at all but a man who has been living under the school... in the hidden tunnels?! He is very spooky, but he really means no harm. Or...does he?
Supporting. Anna is a student at Woods Mill Middle School. Anna loves all things scary…but ESPECIALLY loves clowns.
Supporting. Cami is a student at Woods Mill middle school. She loves all things spooky and horror, and has the perfect "Horror Movie" scream
Supporting. Corey is a student at Woods Mill middle school. He is playing Esmerelda's father in the play "The Phantom". He believes that the play really is cursed! Steve is his best friend, and thankfully gets to sit in on rehearsals because...well he is apart of the carpool.
Supporting. Steve is a student at Woods Mill middle school. The only reason he is even at rehearsal is because he has to carpool with Corey. He doesn't care for this "spooky" stuff really, but this whole "cursed play" stuff is pretty cool.
Looking for an ensemble of students to also audition for the Woods Mill Middle School play! We are also looking for ghosts, zombies and other spooky creatures! There are going to be a lot of opportunities for featured dancing and soloists as well. We want to give our audience GOOSEBUMPS!
