About the project: When their wealthy half-brother cheats them of their inheritance, sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood are left penniless and must move to humble Barton Cottage. There, they encounter heartbreak, romance, and renewal in this witty and heartfelt adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel. Elinor longs for the steadfast Edward Ferrars, while the passionate Marianne loses her heart to the dashing John Willoughby—until both learn that sense and sensibility must find balance for love to endure. Rate: $75 stipend for non-Equity actors. Two complimentary opening weekend tickets (subject to availability). Actor’s Pass: Free admission to opening weekends of future SSG shows for one year (non-transferable; subject to availability). Additional info: Cold readings from the script. Please bring a printed headshot and résumé. Cast members must participate in strike to receive their stipend. Rehearsals will begin in Irving and later move to our new theatre on Decatur Avenue. Please have a flexible evening and weekend schedule at least four weeks before tech week. All conflicts must be disclosed before casting; added conflicts afterward may result in recasting.
