Teen Girl Wanted For "Harvey" Play

Chicago, IL, United States
ID: 595244Exp: 12/12/2025
Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Seeking teen girl for "Harvey" play. See the details below. About the project: Harvey follows Elwood P. Dowd, a kind, cheerful man whose best friend is Harvey, a 6-foot-tall invisible rabbit, or "pooka," that only Elwood can see. His unusual friendship embarrasses his social-climbing sister Veta and niece Myrtle Mae, who worry Harvey is ruining their chances of fitting into society. Veta tries to have Elwood committed to Chumley's Rest Sanitarium, but through a mix-up, the doctors commit Veta instead. When they realize their mistake, everyone begins searching for Elwood and Harvey, who calmly wander in and out of bars, hospitals and social gatherings. As the play unfolds, the sanitarium staff, even Veta herself, start to question whether Harvey might actually be real. Harvey's quiet influence brings out people's hidden desires, softens conflicts and exposes the silliness of social expectations. In the end, Veta has a choice: cure Elwood with an injection that will make him "normal," or let him remain the gentle, imaginative man he has always been. After realizing that the cure would make him cold and ordinary, she chooses to keep him exactly as he is. Rate: There is no pay for this project.
