About the project: HY MOM is an in-person podcast in Atlanta where youth ages 8–16 and their parental figures have honest, human conversations together about how suicidal ideation in the family has shaped emotions, communication, and daily life. This is not therapy; it is a safe, guided space to talk openly, honestly, courageously, and with care and support. Additional info: LOOKING FOR • Youth ages 8–16 impacted by suicidal ideation • Parents/guardians / parental figures of youth with lived experience • Must be comfortable speaking in-person in a supportive, moderated setting • Recording location: Atlanta WHAT TO EXPECT • In-person recorded conversation (parent + youth may speak together) • Focus on impact, communication, and coping, not clinical disclosure • Respectful environment designed to reduce stigma and build understanding • Real voices. Real families. Not clinical. Not scripted.
