Seeking Teens for "Guys and Dolls" Show
Talent ages 16 and up are welcome to audition for the "Guys and Dolls" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: When You Arrive: -Check in at the front desk to sign in. -You may have a quick headshot taken and sometimes a costume measurement. -A staff member will be available to answer questions and help you feel comfortable. 1. Vocal Audition: Prepare a song cut of about one minute. Choose something in the style of the show you’re auditioning for. An accompanist will be provided—please bring clearly marked sheet music. 2. Dance Audition: After singing, you’ll be taught a short dance routine. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing you can move in. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Rehearsals begin December 15, with a holiday break before resuming in January. Rehearsals are typically held on weeknights from 6:30 to 10:30 PM. Cast members may not be called for every rehearsal, but full availability is expected unless a conflict has been previously noted. Final Rehearsals: Beginning Monday, February 2, we enter technical rehearsals and final run-throughs. It is strongly requested that no conflicts be caused from this date forward. You may not be called for every rehearsal, but unless you’ve submitted a conflict in advance, you are expected to be available during these times. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be shared once the show is cast and we’ve reviewed the cast’s availability. Directors will do their best to accommodate known conflicts shared at the time of audition. Strike (the breakdown and cleanup of the set, costumes, props, and technical equipment) will occur immediately after the closing show, and all cast members must stay and participate. A pretty, bright-eyed woman who serves as the Sergeant of the local Mission. She fully believes in her worthy cause and wishes to convert the gambling sinners to saints. Falls unexpectedly in love with Sky along the way. She is prudish and uptight, but eventually lets go. Vocal range B3 to G5
A good-hearted gambler and craps game organizer who could never hit the big time. He loves Adelaide, but cannot quit his gambling ways. A broke schemer with unwitting ways. Vocal range: D4 to F5
Nathan’s fiancé is a lead performer at the Hot Box nightclub. She loves Nathan more than anything in the world and desperately wants to get married. Pretty, outspoken, stubborn. Vocal range: A3 to E5
Just like his name suggests, he is the nicest and cheeriest of the gambling crooks. High-spirited and a bit naïve, but sincere and genuine. Nathan’s loyal friend and lackey. Vocal range: D4 to B5
Nathan’s right-hand man and a gambler himself. Smart, slick, always moving and shaking, but with what he thinks are Nathan’s best interests at heart. Vocal range: D4 to G5
A crook and gambler. He is a tough guy with dollar signs as his bottom line. Brings Big Jule into Nathan’s craps game and backs his cheating, but is also a man of his word in the gambling community. Vocal range: F3 to G5
A big-time craps player from Chicago who uses a gun and his own pair of rigged dice to bully his way into never losing. Tough looking. A bit of an oaf. Vocal range: F3 to G5
