Dance Opportunities for Teens in "Hairspray" Musical

Casting actors ages 14 and up for "Hairspray" Musical. Please see the details below. About the project: In 1960s Baltimore, dance-loving teen Tracy Turnblad auditions for a spot on "The Corny Collins Show" and wins. She becomes an overnight celebrity, a trendsetter in dance, fun, and fashion. Perhaps her new status as a teen sensation is enough to topple Corny's reigning dance queen and bring racial integration to the show. But she must use her newfound power to vanquish the reigning teen queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network, all without denting her do. Additional info: Be prepared to sing one of the song cuts provided and perform a minute-long monologue of your choice. The audition pack includes three songs selections and monologue instructions for a general/ensemble audition as well as for each of the lead characters. (Optional if auditioning to just dance in the ensemble.) Come prepared to learn a short musical theatre dance combination. No advance preparation necessary.
