About the project: One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers, and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator, the musical follows the preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with the Egyptian noble Potiphar but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family. Additional info: Come prepared with 16 bars of an appropriate song and sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Everyone will be expected to go through a movement/dance audition. Rehearsals: February 23 – April 24, 2025 In general, rehearsals will be held Sunday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 6:00 - 9:30 pm, and Monday through Thursday 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. All actors are not called for all rehearsals. The actual schedule will be determined once the show is cast. NOTE: Days and times on the conflict sheet can give a more detailed idea of ALL rehearsal days and times up to Opening Night. USE this for referencing and saving dates aside. Performances: April 25 - May 10, 2025 Performances are Thursday - Sunday. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00 PM, Saturdays (May 3rd & 10th) and Sundays at 2:00 PM. If interested, please apply.
