Teen auditions for the theater production of "The Mystery of Marie Roget." Please see the details below. About the project: The time is early July, 1841. The place is the study of noted author C. August Dupin, within his Manhattan residence. Dupin has just returned from his vacation to find the New York press filled with the news of the unsolved murder of Marie Roget, a beautiful, young cigar shop clerk whose body was found floating in the Hudson River. Dupin is visited by Lon Garrison, Attorney-General for the State of New York and Miss Roget’s guardian since her relocation to the States from her home in Paris. Having proven himself a skilled amateur investigator, Dupin is entreated by Garrison to help clear the name of Garrison’s son, Benjamin, considered a prime suspect in the girl’s murder. Putting aside their past differences, Dupin agrees to examine the facts in the case, but warns Garrison that he must accept whatever conclusion is reached, whether or not it results in Benjamin’s exoneration.
