Kids & Teens Wanted for Upcoming Shows

Looking for kids ages 6 and above for “The Stephen Foster Story,” “Songs of Stephen Foster” and “Cinderella” Musicals. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the projects: “The Stephen Foster Story” has been delighting audiences at the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre since 1959, the release said. The show is set in the mid-19th century and follows America’s first great composer, Stephen Collins Foster, as he paves the road for future songwriters through love, heartache, and the struggles of the time. Featuring more than 50 of Foster’s greatest compositions such as “Oh! Susanna,” “Camptown Races,” “Beautiful Dreamer,” “Hard Times (Come Again No More),” and Kentucky’s state song, “My Old Kentucky Home,” “The Stephen Foster Story” captures the essence of a bygone era through song, dance, breathtaking costumes and the picture-perfect setting of My Old Kentucky Home State Park. Performances are set to take place Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 p.m. from June 17 to Aug. 12. A one-hour indoor show performed at Nelson County High School, “The Songs of Stephen Foster” features stunning period costumes, exciting choreography, and your favorite Stephen Foster tunes. Performances are set for Saturdays at 2 p.m. from June 24 to Aug. 5. Performances of the production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” are set for Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. from July 12 to Aug. 4. Additional info: Show rehearsals are set to begin May 28, June 3, or June 19, depending on casting. High school students, please prepare two contrasting songs (16 bar cuts) and a 30 – 60 second monologue. An accompanist will be provided. A dance call will be held between audition groups, please bring appropriate attire to change into.
