Description:

Seeking young actors of both genders for "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane", please refer to the details provided. About the project: Based on the award-winning novel by Kate DiCamillo, this story follows Edward Tulane, an expensive toy rabbit made of china. Edward is loved by a little girl named Abilene, but he is most concerned for himself and his own vanity. He lives a pleasant life until he is tragically separated from the little girl. So begins an incredible journey spanning multiple decades, a life-altering journey which Edward has no control over, for he is a toy rabbit. He cannot move nor speak. As years go by, Edward meets many different people in many situations. Through his journey, Edward learns what it is to love, to lose love, and how to find the courage to love again. A beautiful tale of loss, recovery, compassion, and the path to self-discovery. Additional info: Actors will be exposed to content that is heavier in nature than may initially be anticipated. The play references abuse, poverty, grief, and loss. If cast, actors, and parents, should be prepared to explore these themes with a mature mindset and willingness to relate the material back to their individual self.
