"Lift Every Voice" Show Seeking Boys & Girls

Teens ages needed for "Lift Every Voice" Show. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on a true story, Lift Every Voice explores the impact of racism in an urban high school. When a racist message gets posted on social media and shared around the high school, students find themselves examining loyalties, privilege and even their own history. Critical social issues that are prevalent in the U.S. take center stage in this production. Additional info: Rehearsal & Performance Schedule: Rehearsals: 1/22-2/2 School Performance Tour: 2/6-2/17 (Actors WILL miss school during this time. They will be provided with absence letters addressed to their school principals. Most days will be half days of missed school). Callbacks: In-person callbacks will be held on Thursday, December 15th from 5-6pm. ‍ When applying, please send: 1) A youth audition form, headshot and resume (if available). 2) A short video including the following: a) Your personal story (answering the following questions): What is your name? What does it mean? What is a part of yourself/your personality that is most important to what makes you who you are?‍ Tell us about a challenge that you see in the world. Tell us about something beautiful that you see in the world.‍ b) A short (One minute or under) monologue discussing a struggle, miscommunication or issue with a family member or friend OR the feeling of being an "outsider." When: Video submissions are due no later than Monday, December 12th.
