"Assassins" Production Needs Boys & Girls

Seeking ages 8+ for "Assassins" Production. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "Assassins" is an exploration of the American Dream gone awry. It lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States, in a one-act historical "revival" that explores the dark side of the American experience. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, writers, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman bend the rules of time and space, taking us on a nightmarish roller coaster ride in which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical periods meet, interact, and inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream. Additional info: Interested actors are asked to prepare a short song they know well, preferably from musical theatre repertoire. Please bring sheet music. Singing with accompaniment is strongly preferred. An accompanist will be provided. Actors may be asked to read from the script. Rehearsals begin December 7 and will take place most Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Sunday afternoons. We’ll rehearse for two weeks in December, take off two weeks for the holidays, and begin again at the beginning of January. Performance dates are February 10,11,12,17,18, & 19.
