Looking for boys and girls ages 9+ for "Matilda" The Musical. Please see the details below. About the project: Based on the Roald Dahl children's book, Matilda the Musical is the story of a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers who, with the support of her teacher, tries to rid her school of its evil headmistress Miss Trunchbull. Matilda is an extraordinary girl with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind whose talents are constantly belittled by her cruel parents and headmistress. Dreaming of a better life for herself, she dares to take a stand against these oppressive forces and takes her destiny into her own hands. Additional info: Those interested in auditioning must come prepared with a small section of a song of their choice. Musical numbers from the show are preferred. No accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning may use a phone or sing a cappella. Those auditioning will also be asked to read from the script. Performance dates are March 2nd through the 5th.
