Do you have a child who loves films? Loves talking about films? Loves being on-camera? Here's their chance to join the highly acclaimed, national KIDS FIRST! Film Critics team. Our youth reporters watch and review the latest films pre-release. They attend press screenings, red carpets and press junkets. They interview actors, directors, composers, showrunners, and similar. To audition for a treasured spot on our team, apply online using the KIDS FIRST! registration form. You will need to submit a short 200 word written review and upload a short video about yourself. We have youth reporters from all across the USA, and international locations. The only caveat is that you must speak English and be between the age of 9 and 16. Once your audition is accepted, you will be required to take our online class, which has is a fee. (Note: we do have some scholarships available.) This class teaches you how to critique a film and conduct interviews, following the KIDS FIRST! guidelines.
NOTE: This is a volunteer position. However, the unique access and experiences in the entertainment world, watching films pre-release, meeting and interviewing media professionals – actors, directors, and others is unsurpassed. Many KIDS FIRST! Film Critics have found employment as actors as a result of their experience as a KIDS FIRST! Reporter. Plus, they are coached with every assignment – by our writing and video editors. Our next deadline is February 20, 2022.
